These terms govern your use of FormuLab and the other software published by Allenrad Technology. By creating an account or using the software, you agree to them.
1. Who you are contracting with
Allenrad Technology is a brand of Orchid Food LLC, a Virginia limited liability company. In these terms, "we", "us", and "Allenrad" mean Orchid Food LLC. "You" means the person or business using the software.

2. What FormuLab is
FormuLab is a web application for food formulation, costing, and pricing. It helps you record formulas, track ingredient costs, apply overhead and profit rules, estimate nutrition values, and calculate batch quantities.
FormuLab is a calculation and record-keeping tool. It is not a regulatory service, a laboratory, or a substitute for professional advice.
3. Accounts
You need an account to use FormuLab. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at info@allenrad.com if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account.
4. Plans, billing, and payment
FormuLab offers a free tier with limited features, and paid Standard and Pro subscriptions. Current prices are shown on our pricing page and at checkout.
Paddle is our reseller
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Your subscription and payment details are managed by Paddle, and Paddle's Buyer Terms and Conditions apply to your purchase.
Renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the subscription management portal linked in the app. When you cancel, you keep access to paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate partial periods except as described in our Refund Policy.
Price changes
We may change prices. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before the change applies to your subscription, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
5. Your content and your data
Your formulas, ingredients, categories, costs, and any other content you create in FormuLab remain yours. We claim no ownership over them and we do not sell them, share them with third parties, or use them to train models.
Important — where your work is stored. FormuLab currently stores your formulas, ingredients, categories, pricing rules, and app settings in your browser's local storage on the device you are using. This data is not synchronised to our servers and is not backed up by us.
This means your work can be lost if you clear your browser data, use a different browser or device, or use private browsing. You are responsible for exporting your own backups using the Backup & Export screen in the app, and for keeping those backup files safe. We strongly recommend exporting a backup regularly.
6. Acceptable use
Do not:
- Break the law, or use FormuLab to help anyone else break the law
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, servers, or data that are not yours
- Reverse engineer, resell, sublicense, or redistribute the software
- Interfere with the service, overload it, or scrape it in an automated way
- Share one account across multiple businesses to avoid paying for additional subscriptions
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
7. Nutrition, pH, and regulatory disclaimers
This section matters. Read it carefully.
Nutrition data
FormuLab's nutrition features calculate estimated values from ingredient data, including data sourced from the USDA FoodData Central database. These are estimates for planning and internal use only. They are not laboratory analyses and they are not certified for regulatory labelling.
If you intend to place a Nutrition Facts panel on a product for sale, you are responsible for verifying the values through laboratory analysis or another method accepted by the authority that regulates you, and for meeting the formatting and content requirements that apply in your market.
pH estimation
The pH estimator produces an approximate value based on ingredient inputs. It is not a substitute for measuring pH with a calibrated meter. Food safety decisions — including acidified food, shelf stability, and process authority requirements — must be based on real measurement and, where required, the review of a qualified process authority.
General
You are solely responsible for the safety, legality, labelling, and regulatory compliance of any product you make. Nothing produced by FormuLab constitutes food safety advice, regulatory approval, or professional consultation.
8. Availability
We aim to keep FormuLab available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may need to take it offline for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control. We may change, add, or remove features over time.
9. Warranties and liability
FormuLab is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of the software is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Ending the agreement
You may stop using FormuLab and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the product. If we discontinue the product, we will give you reasonable notice and time to export your data.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use FormuLab after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer in the European Union or United Kingdom, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
